Vegetable tanning is a traditional craft process that tanneries have handed down from father to son for over 200 years, using both ancient recipes and state-of-the-art technology. With vegetable tanned products, you can really see the skill that has gone into producing them. The transformation from raw hides into a material that will last a long time is a process that happens slowly in wooden drums, while respecting the environment. It is an astonishing process based on the use of natural tannins and on the slow passage of time.
Among the various tanning methods, the vegetable tanning is the most classical, traditional, the most natural and environmentally-friendly, most recognizable and the only one able to give leather unique characteristics.
It is able to join comfort and look, fashion and tradition, uniqueness and versatility in the product. High quality vegetable tanning is almost disappearing in Europe, with an exception of Italy, where Consortium (Consortia Pelle Vegetale) are the world-leaders of this tradition & handcraft. Some 19, often run by families for decades are members of this organization. In Germany there're very few companies like „Ecopell“ from Bavaria, „NANAI" with its salmon leather skins, or the famous firm „Rendenbach jr.“ which is located in Germany’s oldest (2000+ years) city Trier, with its unique traditional method of oak-bark ground tanning, since more than 100 years!
Our buffalo, cow, goat and sustainable bio-breed salmon leather show there characteristic appearance throughout there lifetime. Marks, scratches, etc. are the visible proof of a life in nature. After special treatments with our own discovered natural waxes and oils, which guarantees a long lasting use, our provided leather is very robust and can be taken for bedrooms, kitchen, but also in heavy used areas like hallways and corridors. Also for exclusive yacht interiors.
The leather tiles come in various sizes from 30x30 - 40x40 - 50x50 cm and 50x60 cm. Or, depending on the availability and size of a large skin, we lay mosaics in single sizes from 1,5 sqm up to 3 sqm, especially for large rooms this is a highlight. Salmon leather wall/ surface cover comes in skins of approximately 10x30cm and usually stitched linear, or staggered in reverse order.
Important: Natural Leather should look like leather. Through an open structure in the skin and the use of the same, leather becomes over time a more and more beautiful appearance and haptic. A patina which is absolutely unique.

Wer sich für unsere Leder, entscheidet, wählt damit bewusst eines der feinsten Materialien, welches die Natur zu bieten hat.
Um diesem exklusiven Anspruch gerecht zu werden, verwenden unsere Lieferanten im Gegensatz zur herkömmlichen Chromgerbung rein pflanzliche Gerbstoffe wie Eichen- und Fichtenrinde (Deutschland, Luxembourg), Taraschoten (Peru), Kastanien (Deutschland), Mimosarinden (Brasilien), Valonea-Fruchtkapseln (Türkei) Olivenblätter (Spanien, Italien, Kreta) und Rhabarberwurzeln (Deutschland) – damit echtes Leder ein edles und unbedenkliches Naturprodukt bleibt. Die Leder verwenden wir für Fußböden,, zur exklusiven Wandgestaltung, als Säulenummantelung, Vorhänge, Raumteiler, Headboards und in der Gestaltung mit Möbel aller Art.
Pflanzlich gegerbte Natur-Lederböden und Wandoberflächen
Büffel/Kuh/Ziegen- und Lachs Leder die wir verwenden zeigen ihre Ursprünglichkeit in einer wunderschönen Haptik und Ausstrahlung. Nach entsprechender Behandlung durch natürliche Wachse und Öle sind sie für fast alle Boden- und Wandflächen geeignet. Somit sind die von uns angebotenen Oberflächen der Ökologischen Leder sehr robust und pflegeleicht zu behandeln. Für Schlafzimmer, Küchen und selbst in stark frequentierten Laufbereichen wie Flure und Wohnhallen sind Natur - Lederböden geeignet. Ebenso für exklusive Yachtausstattungen.
Die Verlegung ist in Form von Fliesen 30x30 cm, 40x40 cm, 50x50 cm, 50x60 cm möglich, oder individuell je nach Hautgröße wie ein Mosaik verlegt. Wobei hierbei einzelne Lederstücke schon einmal Größen von ca. 1,5 qm bis zu 3 qm aufweisen. Gerade in größeren Räumen eine „Augenweide".
Unser "NANAI" Lachsleder wird in der Regel in Grössen von 10x30cm zugeschnitten und linear, bzw. versetzt vernäht. Hierdurch sind unterschiedliche, auch große Grössen als ein Stück erhältlich.
Wichtig! Leder sollte wie Leder aussehen. Durch die offene Struktur und den Gebrauch bekommt Leder im Laufe der Zeit eine immer stärker werdende traumhaft schöne Patina die Einzigartig ist.
